SUMMER NATURE TRAIL WALK
Saturday 6th July 2019

The first in our series of FREE Seasonal Nature Walks was a big success!

Our Summer Nature Walk included activities and tea at Bevendean Community Garden, wandering past the dew pond (and rescuing some newts!) exploring butterflies and wildflowers in the meadows on Bevendean Down, heading for sea views up Falmer Hill . We picnicked in Moulsecoomb woods and enjoyed the shade of the trees in the Hogtrough Plantation. It was a glorious day! We finished at Stanmer Park and saw some fabulous displays at the Kite Festival. This walk was approximately 3 miles.

AUTUMN NATURE TRAIL WALK
Sunday 15th September 2019

Admire the abundance of autumn, forage for berries and discover variety of fungi to be found in Bevendean and Moulsecoomb.

Our aim is to help the community reconnect with the nature that can be found here.

On this walk we were joined by local herbalist Lucinda Warner, who helped us identify and discover the benefits and features of herbs, plants and trees that can be found on Bevendean Down. It was a shorter, circular walk which included exploring the Dew Pond, Meadows and Hogs Trough Bottom.

WINTER NATURE TRAIL WALK
Sunday 5th January 2020
